Cotton On launches its teen collection Free with new spot via Rockaway Creative, Melbourne
Cotton On has launched its highly anticipated teen collection, Free with a new spot created by Andrew Wood at relatively new Melbourne production company Rockaway Creative.
Free by Cotton On caters to free-spirited, independent-minded boys and girls aged 9 to 14 who are tired of wearing clothes designed for either kids or adults. The brand was born due to an overwhelming demand from Cotton On Kids customers who have grown with up with the brand and have discovered that there is a gap in fashionable, wholesome, value based clothing that truly represents the quintessential Aussie kid as they enter the ‘in-between’ age.
“This age bracket want independence, to feel like they belong to something bigger and to be recognized for their own personality. They’re free to experiment with different looks and trends, and free to explore their individuality through the clothes they wear”, said Natalie McLean, General Manager of Cotton On Kids.
The collection features a range of denim, hoodies, graphic tees, and other stylish gear that allows these teens the freedom to fashion a variety of looks, from quirky cool to a laidback classic look which is both affordable and age appropriate.
Free by Cotton On aims to be the must have collection of 2013, set to kick off as an online exclusive from March.

A) someone is trying to kill this brand before it starts. BFF totes amaze its adult speak fit we don’t know our target market at all. There is a reason none uses this language in teen advertising – because it looks fake and insincere.
B) boy harassing girl with cupcake! Surely girl doing it to guy is cooler.
C) length. It’s just boring.
Anyway back to work.
Offered so much but omg soooo boring #fail #epicfail YOLO
Cake on girl pfft
Whoever is leading this range from this brand needs a reality check. I agree w comments above that the words used sound fake and the way the vision is described sounds soooooo cliche/cookie cutter approach. ‘The age bracket want independence’? Really? They are kids! If you gave a kid or even a young adult a day of real independence they would run home crying. Sorry but there is nothing unique or individual about this range. That is not to say it is terrible, but saying it is something it is not is an insult to the public’s intelligence.
The GM from Kids Cotton On has it all wrong. Just another crappy children wear range that is the same as all the other brands. Its pathetic that they think its original
Cool
