Tony Gulisano and Wayne Youkhana Join LIA
The London International Advertising Awards has signed on the services of Tony Gulisano and Wayne Youkhana, both former executives of the Clio Awards. The pair have a combined total of over 40 years experience and are considered to be two of the most respected individuals across the landscape of international award shows.

“As the industries we award are in a perpetual state of motion theaddition of Tony and Wayne could not have come at a better time. As welook to the future and focus on providing the most relevant forum, andawarding and showcasing the most remarkable creatives and theirachievements, I cannot think of two individuals that are morehighly-respected and qualified to execute these goals,” said BarbaraLevy, President of LIA.

Two of the most respected individuals in the landscape? I guess that depends on who you ask. And what exactly is the landscape of award shows these days? It all seems very superficial and incestual – thus, Tony and Wayne spending the next 40 years together. Next big announcement from London: Clio’s past becomes our present!
Fantastic news. Who are they?
I knew advertising was in a morbid introspective doldrum…if this is news, I’m delighted to report that I am right!
Show a little respect. Wayne is one of the nicest, most caring individuals you will come across in this industry. He has the utmost respect for the work we create and for the people who create it. If you have ever been on one of his juries you would understand. Because of him and Tony, whom I haven’t met, Clio has become one of the most respected and honorable shows in the world.
And can you all stop whinging about award shows. Yes, we are in a recession but if you would all open your eyes and ears and look at what’s happening around the world, you just might see the best way out. The best work at Cannes this year completely shifted out of the more traditional categories. Direct, Cyber, Promo and even PR all had amazing work in them, showing that we can be accountable for brilliant creativity. Award shows showcase this thinking so we can all benefit from it. And yes, it helps our careers when we win. Probably should.
So, sad day for Clio. A rare sunny day for London.
You should post ALL of the comments you receive.
Autumn Robert, formerly of the infamous Clio incest pool, has joined London International to pal around with her mentors Tony Gulisano and Wayne Youkhana. She learned so much from them, so as their Brasilian representative, she will be an amazing addition to a team that needs expansion into Latin America and beyond.
Dear Laura,
Thanks for your informative post. It’s so nice to learn about what I’m supposedly up to from a random internet post. Thought you’d be interested in knowing that what you’ve typed here is total BS. I suggest you reconsider your source.
Now back to my caipirinha…
Sincerely,
Autumn Robert
