U.S. hotshop CP+B lures The Monkeys’ Jay Gelardi for digital executive creative director role

Jay Gelardi headshot-web.jpgTop U.S. agency CP+B has lured Jay Gelardi from The Monkeys in Sydney as it new digital executive creative director. Based in Boulder, Gelardi will partner with the agency’s creative directors in developing digital ideas and strategies, as well as providing mentorship and leadership to junior creatives.

The Monkeys received six “Agency of the Year” titles from awards shows and Australian advertising publications during his tenure. His recent contributions include work for Intel and Boost Mobile that was honored five times at the 2014 Webby Awards, while in 2013, his work for flavored milk brand OAK picked up a Facebook Studio Award and his work for Diageo Australia received a D&AD Yellow Pencil. Before The Monkeys Gelardi spent eight years at Agency Republic, London, working on a number of award-winning projects that contributed to five “Digital Agency of the Year” accolades.  Over the course of his career, he has worked as a creative and as a director for some of the world’s biggest brands, including IKEA, Intel, Mercedes, PlayStation, Samsung, Smirnoff and The BBC.

In 2008, Jay set up Republic Film, a production company specializing in interactive film and animation, and in 2011 he co-founded Charity Swearbox, a Twitter-based charitable venture that translated people’s foul-mouthed tweets into donations to good causes.
