Vale Marie Claire Morgan, MC to her many friends and colleagues at Saatchi’s, The Palace and Blaze
Many in the industry will be saddened to hear of the passing of Marie Claire Morgan, MC to her many friends and colleagues at the Sydney offices of Saatchi & Saatchi, The Campaign Palace and latterly Blaze, who has died of cancer.
Says former Palace and Saatchi’s senior writer Philip Putnam:
“It is with great sadness I pass on the news that MC died Sunday night.
She showed remarkable spirit and strength when she lost husband Michael to cancer last year, shrugging off her own bout with the disease.
Then a couple of weeks ago she fainted and tests revealed her cancer had returned.
MC’s deterioration was rapid – not that she complained at all – and on Sunday arvo was up and about, had a walk around the hospital, and typically, a ciggy.
However that evening MC faded fast and passed away peacefully with her father and daughter present.
I’ll remember MC for her enthusiasm, humour, empathy and optimism: she reminds us we should always see the glass half full.
The memorial service is next Tuesday morning, the 19th, 10am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, 193 Avoca Street, Randwick.
No flowers, all donations to the cancer unit at the Prince Of Wales Hospital, Randwick.”
Adds Ron Mather, the former ECD at both Saatchi’s and The Palace:
“It’s incredible, someone who made so many people happy will now make so many people sad.
MC you were a delight to work with,I will always remember your smile, your energy, your loyalty and your total commitment to outstanding work. For that I will be forever thankful. RIP MC.”

What a sad story. Why do bad things happen to good people?
Lovely, lovely lady. Very sad.
very sad – I have fond memories working with MC, when I was the despatch boy at Saatchi’s in the late 80’s – she always had a smile on her face (& a ciggie in her hand)
We’ll miss ya, Droullers.
I looked to the sky on Monday night and saw two bright stars side by side, my thoughts went straight to MC & Michael back together again.
We had fun MMs along the way, the silly jokes, the work, the Nelson and above all, the laughter. I’ll always cherish the memories. RIP and god bless.
Always had a smile on her face even through some tough times.
What a day, what a week! What a life cut short!
RIP MC, we miss you already.
Thanks for going above and beyond so many times. And always with a smile and enthusiasm.x

Completely barking mad, but in a good way. So much energy and laughter and enthusiasm for everything that came her way. Fun times all that time ago at the Palace good old days. Thanks for making it fun. You will be missed. RIP MC.

Regardless of what was going down, she always had a smile on her face.
We’ll all miss you.
Will miss you MC.
Forever looking out for me and guiding me. Always a mentor, a friend, a mother… I can only hope to become half the person you were.
I’ll never forget you, MC…
