Virgin Mobile Australia builds on ‘Game of Phones’ campaign with new video via Milk Money
With less than one week to go until ‘The King’ is crowned, Virgin Mobile has released a new online video capturing the action sweeping the nation for ‘Game of Phones’ – Australia’s biggest ever location-based mobile app challenge.
More than 26,000 people have downloaded the app since it became available for download on Thursday 14 November.
The game sees players challenged to hunt for almost $200,000 worth of prizes in the ‘Game of Phones’ virtual world. When game play ends this Sunday, 8 December at 6pm, the ultimate winner will be rewarded a $50,000 VIP voyage of royal proportions, and the grand title of ‘The King’ of ‘Game of Phones’.

Looks like a viral smash.
$200,000 worth of prizes to reach 26,000 people, plus agency costs – could have bought them all a beer and six-pack of livestrong wristbands.
Wow 26,0000 downloads. it’s not even in the top 100 free apps. Massive media spend with little to show for it.
Surely the same people who did Doug Pitt didn’t work on this… Surely.
Didn’t Virgin have the same idea 2 years back but with bicycles as prizes?
But it’s ‘sweeping the nation’.
Didn’t you guys read the PR release?
This is fucking terrible. Seriously.
