Grand Prix Winners.jpgThe Australasian Promotional Marketing Association (APMA), powered by the Communications Council, today announces the 2013 APMA Star Award winners, following last night’s annual awards dinner, held at the Ivy Ballroom in Sydney.

Taking home the coveted Grand Prix, Whybin\TBWA Group Star Awards 2013.jpgscored the top award for its ‘NRMA Car Creation’ campaign for Insurance Australia Group – a truly integrated campaign that saw a car built from scratch using parts that the company’s competitors  did not cover as standard.

The awards acknowledge and reward the marketing activation agencies and clients that demonstrate outstanding results and creativity in today’s highly competitive marketplace.  Celebrating the past year’s finest promotional and experiential marketing work, the winners set the benchmark for agencies in this field.

Young Achievers.jpgThe APMA Ignite Young Achiever awards were won by Amy Jenkins (30thirty) (right), who was recognised for her success in account management, and Andrej Sikanjic (The Zoo Republic) (left) for his contribution to the agency’s creative department. In addition, after 25 years working in and for the industry, Kylie Green was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award.

APMA chairman David Lo thanked this year’s 34 judges and the Star Award sponsors.

Says Lo (pictured below): “We have received an extremely high quality of entries this year, demonstrating outstanding creativity. As the industry becomes ever-more integrated, we are also seeing David Lo, Chairman of APMA.jpgmore submissions arriving from areas such as PR and digital – not simply participating, but winning awards. It was also fantastic to see a continued trend from last year, with a number of Gold Star Awards going to campaigns that are not purely about selling more products but showing how the power of brand activation and experience can influence behaviour for charitable or cause-related issues. Congratulations to all of the 2013 winners and finalists.”
