WWF-Australia raises more than eyebrows for Wild Onesie Week 2015 via Bondi Advertising
WWF-Australia via Bondi Advertising, has launched a fully integrated national marketing and fundraising campaign for the second year called Wild Onesie Week, after a hugely successful inaugural year in 2014.
The initiative will attempt to ‘raise more than eyebrows’ this year as WWF encourages corporate and everyday Australians to support colleagues, family and friends, by sponsoring them for Wild Onesie Week 2015, which runs Monday 1st June to Friday 5th June (including World Environment Day on June 5th).
The 2014 campaign saw over 1,200 Australian participants don a WWF limited edition panda onesie, raising over $115,000 for endangered species around the world. Digitally the campaign garnered over 1,5million impressions across key social media platforms and was supported by celebrities including supermodel Samantha Harris; journalist, author and blogger Mia Freedman; Neighbours actress Jenna Rosenow; Channel V presenter Danny Clayton; and Nova 96.9 FM duo Fitzy and Wippa.
This year’s campaign creative urges fundraisers to ‘Raise More Than Eyebrows’ and shows corporate Australians doing just that on their commute to work, in their WWF Official Panda and Black Flanked Rock Wallaby onesies.
WWF-Australia worked collaboratively with strategic and creative agency Bondi Advertising, public relations agency Stellar Concepts and media agency Starcom to produce a fully integrated PR, media and digital plan nationally.
The nationwide WWF initiative aims to inspire Australians to raise awareness of endangered species and the issues affecting them while raising funds, so WWF-Australia can continue their critical work of preserving species including pandas, rock-wallabies, pygmy elephants, orang-utans, turtles and tigers.
Says Dermot O’Gorman, CEO, WWF-Advertising: “This year, Wild Onesie Week is all about encouraging your colleagues to have some fun in the workplace, while helping to protect endangered species in Australia and across the world.
“We’re passionate about inspiring communities to come together and Wild Onesie Week allows you to do just that by being part of a fundraising team at work, or maybe even by dobbing in your boss and supporting them to wear an animal onesie for the day.
“This year we’ve also introduced a very important species close to Australians hearts, the black-flanked rock wallaby, in the hope of raising awareness about endangered species in our own backyard. The black-flanked rock wallaby is one of many endangered species that will benefit from the funds raised during Wild Onesie Week.”

Hugely successful where, in Bondi?
Thought these guys had washed out to sea? Maybe they should have been.
consumer engagement campaigns are only really successful when the level of engagement required is super simple. eg. Earth Hour. having to find, then fork out nearly $100 for a silly suit etc is way too hard. Can’t imagine this alone raised the money claimed as i’d never heard of it.
