any chance we can see the work?
I think that’s a pretty good reflection of who was on the judging panel.
Where’s Ezza!?!?
Stop it Cairnsy! You’re no longer a kiddy, which the lion/s I’m sure you’ll get in the real show will prove.
so the winner’s gonna be from tbwa or ddb?
It is interesting that 4 of the 8 entries were from teams that had their own and/or past CD doing the voting. This doesn’t look good on paper.
I agree with 11.40, we need to see the work. It’s the only way we can say for sure if it was great work or influence that got them over the line.
Who gives a shit about your opinion anyway?
yes, I’d like to see the work too. The cyber work required an online entry, so they could simply post the URLs of the finalists….
Some emerging new agencies/talent on the list which is always exciting – though agree with 11.40 and 1.41, shame about the judge loading, I wonder if the others will get a look in.
Would like to see the work too – anyone know anyone?? – the Cyber entries in particular must be online somewhere… shall we do some investigating… ?
If you’re a talented up and comer, why would you want to work at McCanns?
As someone who knows one of the judges i know for a fact, like in all award judging, that you can’t even comment or let alone speak if work from your agency is being considered.
Guys, clearly they wouldn’t allow the CD to judge their own employee’s work..
I sense some jealousy..
post the work. problem solved.
I didn’t get in. So I’m jealous. But I’d still like to see the work, purely out of curiosity and to see what trumped my entry.
I agree 6.32.
Liz and Kate – get out of there now before any potential you have gets sucked out of you with the mediocrity that surrounds you daily. Trivia question – a. When was the last time McCann Sydney won a lion? b. for a bonus point..when was last time they had anything worth entering?
Well done though girls.
1:41pm raises an interesting point.
Matt Eastwood really likes to PR DDB as THE place to be for juniors so he’ll be extremely hopeful that one of his teams win.
But if DDB win I don’t think it’ll be a result of anything shady with the judging, because those lads are very talented.
Look forward to seeing the winning work but I’d be against the idea of blogging all the entries because of the inevitable: tools bitchily slagging off the work.
Good luck to all
1.04 am, you can be creative wherever you work. I’m sure they let you get creative with the burgers you make at McDonalds. Lettuce mayo cheese…. mayo lettuce cheese… cheese lettuce mayo… the options are endless… see!
I will happily post the work – once the winners are announced. I don’t think though when we are discussing fairness it would be fair to post one teams work and not another – so you’ll all have to wait. I do know that digital was judged on the idea and the execution, as the winning team will have to create a full working campaign in just under 2 days – so the execuction was just as important as the idea. You’re all just jealous that you’re probably too old to enter and can’t get to Cannes any other way!
1:04am please relax. It ain’t necessarily about where you work, if you’re enjoying yourself and doing good work then it’s all good.
Being at McCanns/RMR Worldwide might not be Saatchi and Saatchi but if these girls are happy then more power to them.
Those 2 girls at McCanns should ask for a decent payrise on the back of this. They’d get one, management would cave in a second because it’s the only way shit agencies can keep emerging talent – by paying them well above the market rate.
Well done girls.
Justin and Iggy! What are you guys doing? You got a silver last year. Don’t be too keen to stay juniors boys. You boys are talented and have done some pretty good work since. You’re on the road to becoming very good creatives. Leave the junior comps to the juniors.
Ain’t like they’ve won a lion though…..but I guess for McCanns this is pretty huge news
11:52, you’re a patronising git.
I’ve never met Justin or Iggy, but they’re careers’ seem to be going just fine without your anonymous grandfatherly advice.
Who knows. Maybe they’ll win the “junior comp” and pick up something at the senior one too.
Have a look at last year’s winners for the Cyber :-

Our winners need to be able to beat that standard – in 24 hours!
The cyber entries were very impressive, a great crop of work.
And yes, we’re hoping to post the cyber work live somewhere
Um…free trip to Cannes? I’m a CD and I want to play. Anyone who considers them juniors for winning twice is a knob. It would just mean they are really good and taking every opportunity that comes their way.
thanks Clint.

Nick, in that instance it’s their, not they’re.
You’ll have much more credibility if you get your English correct.
No worries!
I promise I’ll be more careful in future, officer.
