Exclusive: Hennah to depart JWT after five years to return to NZ – Harricks takes sole ECD role
CB Exclusive – After more than five years as joint executive creative director at JWT Sydney and before that in Auckland, Angus Hennah has decided to return to New Zealand. As a result, joint ECD Mark Harricks (far left, with Hennah), who joined from DDB in January 2011, will assume the sole ECD role.
“Angus and I have spoken about his desire to head home for some time. He’s made a significant impression during his time with JWT in both Australia and New Zealand and he leaves with our very best wishes,” said JWT Australia New Zealand CEO John Gutteridge.
“I know Harricks will do a fantastic job flying solo and my only regret is that we won’t be able to spend more time working together. It’s been a rewarding five years with JWT but it’s time to face some new challenges,” said Hennah.
“And with Oscar our first child about to start rugby, I mean school, it felt like the right time to head home.”
Says Harricks: “Angus has done a wonderful job of lifting the profile of JWT Sydney. Under his stewardship the agency has steadily built a strong portfolio of unexpected, award-winning work. He’s been a great partner and a great mate, I wish him and his family endless sunshine in the land of the long white cloud (except at night time, that would get annoying).”
Harricks will continue as the sole ECD continuing to work closely with the agency’s CD Digital & Direct, Ash Hopper, to ensure further integration across the business.
A leaving date for Hennah has yet to be confirmed.

Top creative, top bloke. All the best, Angus.
He’s either incredibly photogenic or he knows a great photographer.
Best of luck Angus.s
All the very best to you mate, and to your family for the move back home to NZ.
It sounds like it’s where you want to be, and of course home is where the heart is, or in your case where the All Blacks are.
It’s a pity we haven’t been able to spend time together while you have been in Oz, but I look forward to the opportunity of catching up in the future, maybe over your way.
Take it easy, and good luck mate.
Sexy, brooding pic by the way.
Cheers,
Dave.
