Host, Sydney awarded prized Tooheys account
Lion’s Beer, Spirits & Wine Australia business has announced that Host will join its Agency Village following a recent pitch process.
Host will specifically handle one of Australia’s highest selling beer brands, Tooheys.
The Lion roster currently also includes BMF and Ogilvy. The latter was appointed back in December to work on the Hahn account.
Says Host CEO Anthony Freedman: “It’s a great way to start the year joining Lion’s Agency Village on an iconic brand like Tooheys. We are really looking forward to being part of the next chapter in one of Australia’s most loved and famous beers.”
Says Matt Tapper, national marketing director for Lion Beer, Spirits & Wine Australia: “The pitching process was extremely competitive and in the end we chose the agency whose ideas aligned with our ultimate vision: to drive the growth of our brands and the beer category as a whole.
“Throughout the process Host was incredibly consistent and held true to their values. We are really looking forward to working with them. They simply presented the best idea.”

I guess the losing agencies must have pitched: “We DON’T want to drive the growth of your brands and the beer category as a whole.”
These dudes are killing it. Obviously Julian and Bob are doing their thing. What a guy.

First brief and every brief after will mention successful ‘the tongue ad’. It’s been the same for 8 years.
Perhaps the brief is to outgross each previous effort. I can’t wait.
